Remove/install coolant pump

Remove/install

Open rear engine compartment flap

Loosen fastening of additional flap on left and right

 Fold up additional flap downwards.

Remove engine compartment encapsulation under coolant pump

 Danger!

Risk of scalding from hot coolant spraying out

Do not open cap of the expansion reservoir or radiator unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Turn cap carefully to the first detent or slacken one turn. Wear protective clothing.

Top up coolant,
observe filling capacity: 

Remove oil-water heat exchanger coolant pipe

 Installation:

Clean sealing surface.

Use new seal.

Detach coolant hose (1) from coolant pump (2) outlet nipple

 To do this loosen hose binder (3).

Remove coolant pump V-belt with tensioner pulley

 Adjust V-belt (4) tensioning nut inwards. Loosen clamp bolt (5) and remove holding screw (6). Remove V-belt from coolant pump, then remove clamp bolt (5) and tensioner pulley (7).

Loosen coolant feed pipe (8) from coolant pump housing and cylinder crankcase

 Remove hose (9) on coolant feed pipe and remove mounting bolts (10).

Installation:

Clean sealing surface.

Use a new seal.



Remove coolant pump (11) from cylinder crankcase

 Remove mounting bolts (12) all around the coolant pump.

Installation:

Clean sealing surface and apply sealant Use a new seal.

Insert both upper bolts since this will not be possible later.

Fix coolant pump in place on the cylinder crankcase using two bolts.


