The following work procedure is shown on the vehicle with the battery cooling circuit.
1 Disconnect electrical connection (4) on low-temperature circuit temperature sensor (B10/13).
2 Disconnect electrical connection (1) at the high-voltage battery coolant pump (M43) (for vehicles with a battery cooling circuit) or at the low temperature coolant pump (M43/1) (for vehicles without a battery cooling circuit).
3 Remove wiring harness (11) on electric motor (M5).
Installation: Check retaining clamps for electrical wiring harness (11) for damage; replace if necessary.
4 Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove potential compensation cables (2) on electric motor (M5).
Installation: Observe tightening torque .
5 Remove cap (10) at charge line (8).
6 Unscrew nut (9) and remove charge line (8) on relay and fuse box.
Installation: Observe tightening torque .
7 Unfasten clamps (6) from coolant hoses (7)

8 Detach coolant hoses (7) to the coolant pipes (5).
Collect coolant that flows out

9 Remove electrical wiring harness (15) on transmission carrier (14).
Installation: Install new cable ties.
10 Disconnect electrical connection (16) at the low temperature coolant pump (M43/1)
For vehicles with a battery cooling circuit.
11 Remove electrical wiring harness (12) on bracket for electrohydraulic power steering pump (M23/3).
Installation: Install new cable ties.
12 Disconnect electrical connectors (13) at the electrohydraulic power steering pump (M23/3).
13 Lay aside electrical wiring harness (17) as far as possible to the right in the engine compartment.

14 Remove electrical wiring harness (18) on shift and selector cable holder (19), on transmission (22) and on electric motor (M5).
Installation: Check retaining clamps for electrical wiring harness (18) for damage; replace if necessary.
15 Disconnect electrical connector (20) on transmission position sensor B79).
16 Disconnect electrical connector (21) on transmission rpm sensor L8).

17 Unplug electrical connector (25) from DC/AC converter control unit (N24)
18 Remove wiring harness (26) on electric motor (M5).
Installation: Check retaining clamps for electrical wiring harness (26) for damage; replace if necessary.
19 Unclip shift and selector cable holder (24) from bracket (23).
20 Loosen clamp (28) on coolant hose (27)
Installation: Check clamp (28) for damage; replace if necessary.
21 Disconnect coolant hose (27) from DC/AC converter control unit (N24)

22 Remove screw/bolt (29) and remove potential compensation cable (30) on electric motor (M5).
23 Mark position of high-voltage lines (31) to rear transverse pipe (32).
24 Remove high-voltage lines (31) at rear transverse pipe (32).
Installation: Install new cable ties.
25 Connect in reverse order.
