| Pay attention to cleanliness during all work on the automatic transmission. | ||
Use lint-free cloths. | |||
1 | Move selector lever to position "P" | ||
2 | Clean the area around the stop plug (6) and the screw plug (2) | ||
3 | Remove screw plug (2) from the oil pan (3) | Replace compression ring (8). | |
4 | Remove overflow pipe (1) through the hole of the screw plug (2) | ||
5 | Drain oil | ||
6 | Detach retaining cap (4) from the oil filler neck (5) | The retaining cap (4) is destroyed during removal. | |
7 | Remove stop plug (6) | ||
| Install | ||
8 | Screw in overflow pipe (1) through the hole of the screw plug (2) | Screw in overflow pipe carefully. | |
9 | Screw in screw plug (2) finger-tight | ||
10 | Pour in specified oil quantity | The oil temperature must be a maximum of 30 °C when filling the transmission. | |

11 | Connect Star Diagnose Compact System or Hand-Held-Tester (HHT) | Check actual value of oil temperature | |

12 | Start engine | ||
13 | Actuate service brake and engage all selector lever positions in sequence | Remain in each selector lever position for a few seconds. Then shift the selector lever into position "P" again. | |
14 | Remove screw plug (2) | ||
15 | Heat up the transmission oil to 35 °C to 45 °C at the idle speed of the engine | ||
16 | Check the oil level when the engine is running | The oil level in the transmission is correct when oil drips out of the overflow pipe (1). If necessary, refill until the oil drips out. Allow excess oil filled to drain. | |
17 | Screw in screw plug (2) | | |
18 | Press on stop plug (6) | Mount stop plug (6) on the oil filler neck (5) until the locking clip latches. | |
19 | Attach new retaining cap (4) |
