Unfasten pressure line (3) on exhaust manifold

 Pressure line (3) is not completely removed.

Remove bracket (4) and swivel out of the working area

 Remove screw (5) to do this.

Unscrew nuts (6)

 Installation: Install shim.

Remove exhaust pipe (9)

 To do this open clamp (10) and unhook exhaust pipe (9) on exhaust rubber.

 Installation: Replace seal.

Remove temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter

Remove heat shield (13)

 Proceed by first removing the screw/bolts (14).

 To do so, remove screws/bolts (16).

 To do this unfasten nuts by some revolutions.

Remove tensioning straps (19)

 To do this unscrew screw/bolts (20) and unhook tensioning straps (19). Counterparts of tensioning straps (19) remain on crankcase.

Remove diesel particulate filter (1)

Remove ATL heat shield

 Installation: The heat shield includes the seal of the flange connection of the diesel particulate filter (1), therefore replace the heat shield.

Install in the reverse order

Perform adaptation of CDI control unit using the diagnostic system

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
