Remove/install

Remove injection lines.

Remove union nut of high-pressure line (1) at rail (2).

 The high-pressure line (1) can not be disassembled yet.

Remove fuel line (3) .


Ensure utmost cleanliness.
Leaks and damage nay occur otherwise.

 Close off connections at rail (2) and fuel line (3). Grommets are available as an replacement part of the fuel injection system; see EPC Group 07.

Remove screws/bolts (4).

Remove screw (5).

Release electrical wiring harness (6).

 Do not open cable ties. The electrical connection (7) must be accessible.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (7).

Remove high-pressure line (1) at rail (2) and remove rail (2).


Ensure utmost cleanliness.
Leaks and damage nay occur otherwise.

 Installation:
Do not crush or bend high-pressure line (1).
Leaks can occur otherwise.

 Close off connections at rail (2) and fuel line (1). Grommets are available as an replacement part of the fuel injection system; see EPC Group 07.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
