1 | Open hood and secure against falling down. | Installation: Only close the engine hood after the leak test. | |
2 | Perform power disconnect of high-voltage on-board electrical system. | ||
Installation: Only commission high-voltage on-board electrical system after leak test. | |||
3 | Carefully turn cap (11) at coolant expansion reservoir (1) by half a turn counterclockwise, release overpressure and remove cap (11). | ||
4 | Clamp off coolant hoses (5, 6, 9) with clamps. | Clamp | |
5 | Suction off coolant from coolant expansion reservoir (1). | ||

6 | Release clamps (4, 8, 10) at respective coolant hoses (5, 6, 9). | Installation: Check clamps (4, 8, 10) for damage. | |

Replace affected clamps (4, 8, 10). | |||
7 | Remove coolant hoses (5, 6, 9) at coolant expansion reservoir (1). | Collect escaping coolant using suitable vessel. | |
8 | Release catch hooks at bracket (2), tilt coolant expansion reservoir (1) forwards and guide out of guide at bracket (2). | ||
9 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) at coolant level switch (S41). | ||
10 | Turn coolant level switch (S41) in direction of arrow and remove from coolant expansion reservoir (1). | When replacing coolant expansion reservoir (1). | |
11 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
12 | Check engine cooling system for leak tightness. | ||
13 | Bring vehicle to operating temperature during a test drive. | ||
14 | Check coolant level at coolant expansion reservoir (1). | If coolant level incorrect | |
