with CODE H15 (Heating for co-driver's seat)

with CODE H16 (Heating for driver's seat)

Function requirements

"Circuit_15R_ON"

Front seat heater (SIH) is activated

No overvoltage or undervoltage

According to the heating level, the UCP control unit (N72/1) increases or reduces the power output, i.e. the respective amperage that heats the heating wire, to the following heating elements:

Left front seat cushion heater pad (R13/1)

Left front backrest heated cushion (R13/2)

Right front seat cushion heater pad (R13/3)

Right front backrest heated cushion (R13/4)

Switch over seat heater as from facelift 2013

Manually switch over seat heater

Function requirements

Heating level 3 activated, 100 % heat output, 3 LEDs light up

or

Heating level 2 activated, 70 % heat output, 2 LEDs light up

The switchover from heating level 3 to heating level 2 is executed by pressing the left seat heater button (N72/1s2) or the right seat heater button (N72/1s10). This causes the LED of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button to be switched off.

The switchover from heating level 2 to heating level 1 is executed by repeated pressing of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button. This causes another LED of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button to be switched off.

Another press of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button switches off the front seat heater, and the last LED of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button goes out.

Automatic switchover of heating levels after expiry of the heat-up time

Function requirements

Heating level 3 activated, 100 % heat output, 3 LEDs light up

or

Heating level 2 activated, 70 % heat output, 2 LEDs light up

or

Heating level 1 activated, 40 % heat output, one LED lights up

If the maximum heat-up time for heating level 3 of t = 8 min is reached, the upper control panel (UCP) control unit automatically executes the switchover from heating level 3 to heating level 2. This is indicated by an LED in the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button going out.

If the maximum heat-up time for heating level 2 of t = 10 min is reached, the upper control panel (UCP) control unit automatically executes the switchover from heating level 2 to heating level 1. This is indicated by another LED in the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button going out.

If the maximum heat-up time for heating level 1 of t = 20 min is reached, the upper control panel (UCP) control unit automatically switches off the front seat heater. This now causes the last LED of the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button to be switched off.

Switch over seat heater up to facelift 2013

Manually switch over seat heater

The switchover from heating level 1 to heating level 2 is executed by pressing the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button downwards. This is indicated by both LEDs on the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button lighting up.

The switchover from heating level 2 to heating level 1 is executed by pressing the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button upwards. This is indicated by an LED on the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button lighting up.

Automatic switchover to heating level 1 at the end of the heat-up time

Function requirements

"Circuit_15R_ON"

Front seat heater activated

No overvoltage or undervoltage

If the maximum heat-up time of t = 5 min has been reached, the upper control panel control unit automatically triggers the switchover from heating stage 2 to heating stage 1. This is indicated by an LED in the left seat heater button or the right seat heater button going out.

The upper control panel (UCP) control unit reduces the power output, i.e. the respective amperage that heats up the heating wire, to the following heating elements:

Left front seat sitting surface heated cushion

Left front backrest heated cushion

Right front seat sitting surface heated cushion

Right front backrest heated cushion
