Residual engine heat utilization is put into operation when engine is warm from operation and ignition key withdrawn after actuation of residual engine heat utilization switch (S33) of residual engine heat utilization control module (A36).
Hot water auxiliary pump (M10/M45) maintains water circuit through heater heat exchanger and via non-powered opened pulse valve (Y37).
Heater blower (M40) circulates warmed interior air according to speed setting on air quantity switch (S24.1).
Switching off of system takes place through:
repeated actuation of residual engine heat utilization switch (S33)
switching on of ignition lock to position 1
end of operating time of approx. 30 min
battery voltage falling below 11.5 volts
Residual engine heat utilization control module (A36) switches to residual engine heat system operation, after voltage at terminal 15 is shut off and control voltage is present at residual engine heat utilization switch (S33).
In order to display residual engine heat system operation, indicator lamp in residual engine heat utilization switch (S33) is actuated.
On vehicles with auxiliary heater, hot water auxiliary pump (M10/M45) and heater blower (M40) actuated by air quantity switch (S24.1) are put into operation by closing of relay (K29) and (K30).
