Overview

General

General
The exhaust gas aftertreatment tank contains the reduction agent required for exhaust gas aftertreatment.
It consists of the following components:
Takeoff tank
Tank heating element
Tank temperature sensor
Tank fill level sensor
Function
The exhaust gas aftertreatment tank has a drain hose with mechanical shutoff valve for emptying.
During the initial filling of the exhaust gas aftertreatment tank with reduction agent, the removal tank must also be filled. The filling of the removal tank prevents air intake during the subsequent reduction agent delivery and ensures a generated system pressure of 5 bar. Only when the exhaust gas aftertreatment tank is completely full is the removal tank filled via an overflow bore.
During the delivery of the reduction agent, a bypass in the pump module returns part of the reduction agent back to the removal tank. This ensures a sufficient filling of the removal tank.
Location
The exhaust gas aftertreatment container is located in the wheel arch in the rear area.
