Function

Driving safety is no longer guaranteed if there is a rapid pressure loss. The driver is advised to stop and check the condition of the tires immediately. The driver is responsible for deciding whether to continue driving at low speed to the next specialist workshop or whether a repair (fitting the spare wheel or using TIREFIT) is necessary on site.

If the TPM control unit (N88) detects that there is a rapid pressure loss (> 0.2 bar/minute) at a wheel, a "hard warning" appears (display color: red).

This "hard warning" is displayed while circuit 15 is ON. A "soft warning" is displayed the next time circuit 15 is switched on.

If the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system is not reactivated, the "soft warning" is repeated for approx. 30 seconds each time the engine is started and then goes out again.

The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster (A1) is switched on at the same time as the "hard warning" is displayed. It only goes out after the tire pressure monitor system has been reactivated.
