Check brake forces of service brake

16.07.2018

Model

949.01/06/167

Danger

Risk of death caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand

Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand.

AS42.00-Z-0001-01A

Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check

1

Connect manometers to brake cylinders of available axles.

Test kit

*360589002100

2

Start engine and completely fill compressed-air system at idle speed.

3

Switch on roller brake test stand.

4

Drive vehicle into roller brake test stand.

Run engine.

5

Using the brake pedal, apply the specified test pressures to the brake cylinder in stages and compare the brake forces achieved for each axle with the reference values.

Minimum brake force on 1st axle at test pressure

*BE42.10-N-1001-17C

Minimum brake force on 2nd axle at test pressure

*BE42.10-N-1002-17C

Minimum brake force on 3rd axle at test pressure

*BE42.10-N-1003-17C

If the reference values are not achieved,

Ascertain the causes and repair the brake system.

6

Drive the vehicle off the roller brake test stand.

7

Apply parking brake.

8

Switch off engine.

9

Switch off roller brake test stand.

10

Detach all pressure gauges.
