Vehicle parameters which have to be parameterized for safety reasons and which must not be altered without modification to vehicle (conversion):
05 Quantity limit, if this was factory-programed for less than
100 % (80 % is programed for safety reasons in the case of new FMR control units).
06 Fixed working speed, if the PTO has not been changed.
07 Working speed limit, if the PTo has not been changed.
13 Engine brake coding, if no conversion has been carried out to engine brake and constant throttle.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16 Engine brake lag time, if the engine brake flap has not been changed.
17Engine speed signal comparison. This value must be set to ON, otherwise the engine may be destroyed in the event of a fault.
18 Torque reduction
A speed-dependent torque reduction has to be programed on powerful engines (530 HP) as a protection of the drive train.
Depending on the setting, the quantity limit (figure entered on sticker at E module under torque reduction) is canceled from the first frequency (f1) linearly as vehicle speed increases up to the second frequency (f2).
C3 signal = 5 pulses for each revolution of propshaft
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicle parameters which can be changed depending on vehicle operation:
02 Variable vehicle speed limit
If the vehicle speed limit is set higher than the fixed programed
85 km/h, the vehicle is not governed until a higher speed (max.
89 km/h).
Vehicle speed is governed to 85 km/h if parameters 02 and 03 are set to 85 km/h.
05 Quantity limit
A deactivatable quantity reduction can be activated in the FMR control unit, i.e. a reduced maximum quantity is programable (is also limit value for all other parameter values and controls, e.g. Tempomat, start-off control):
So long as pin 14/1 (RED) of connector 2 is open, or connected to GND, an accelator pedal control is only possible up to the programed quantity limit. If tml. 15 is switched to pin 14/1 by a switch, the maximum quantity is again 100 %.
15 ADR manual programing
This parameter is normally set to ON, i.e. it is possible to change the programing of the working speed with a shop-made cable without hand-held tester.
If a PTO has been installed at a body manufacturer's and set with the hand-held tester, the parameter can be switched to OFF.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This makes it possible to avoid the programed values for working speed/limit speed being altered without the hand-held tester.
08 Start-off control
This parameter is normally set to OFF, in other words the start-off control is switched off. If the start-off control is programed ON, an acceleration limit which applies over the entire vehicle speed range can be activated:
The acceleration of the vehicle is limited up to vehicle speed 15 km/h by means of the adjustment speed of the foot throttle sensor:
Foot throttle sensor position 50 %: adjustment time cannot be altered
Foot throttle sensor position 50 - 70 %: adjustment time between 0.25 and 10 s
Limiting acceleration in the lower speed range is a sensible measure for various types of vehicle operation. For example delivery of beverages or for domestic refuse vehicles which operate primarily in urban areas from door to door, the operational safety of the vehicle is enhanced by means of the start-off control.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
21 Accelerator pedal map
The accelerator pedal map can be adapted for various vehicle operations.
Altering the accelerator pedal map in the lower range may be sensible e.g. for construction site or domestic refuse vehicles which constantly have to maneuver by reversing.
The quantity of fuel injected can be programed as a function of the accelerator pedal position. In this case, the accelerator pedal travel is subdivided into 4 zones with a quantity of fuel which can be specified as desired (up to a total of 100 %).
