Danger | Risk of explosion due to escaping combustible gas or overheating of gas cylinders.Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes. Risk of frostbite to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching components near the valves when emptying gas cylinders. Risk of poisoning or suffocation caused by inhaling gas. | Remove any sources of ignition.
Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

| Check | ||
1 | Unscrew cap on at expansion reservoir (1). | See information from body manufacturer.
2 | Check coolant level, correct if necessary.
| Coolant specifications | ||
| Anticorrosion agent/antifreeze (specification 325.5) | ||
| Premixed coolant (specification 326.5) | ||
3 | Dry rub expansion reservoir (1) inside on the filler neck.
4 | Turn rubber element on adapter (5) until it fits the inside diameter of the coolant filler neck. | Adapter
5 | Screw knurled nut (4) onto adapter (5).
6 | Tighten test device (3) on adapter (5). | Tester
7 | Attach adapter (5) with test device (3) to expansion reservoir (1).
8 | Hook clamp (2) on adapter (5) and the collar (A) of the filler neck. | Clamp
9 | Pretension the clamp (2) using the knurled nut (4).
10 | Apply compressed air to test device (3) and check engine cooling system for leaktightness.
Permissible pressure drop in cooling system
11 | Perform a visual inspection on all assembly parts carrying coolant. | If a pressure drop with visible coolant loss is detected,
| |||
check radiator, heater cooler, coolant pump, coolant hoses, coolant lines and their connections, hose clamps, cylinder head gasket, core plug or core hole plug screws; remove leaks in engine cooling system.
If a pressure drop without visible coolant loss is detected,
| |||
Check cylinder head for cracks.
12 | Relieve test pressure at test device (3) completely.
13 | Loosen knurled nut (4) and remove clamp (2).
14 | Remove the adapter (5) with test device (3) on expansion reservoir (1).
15 | Check coolant level, pour in coolant if necessary.
