Attach a suitable adapter (4.1) for the drive gear (2) to the locating tool (4)

Detach drive gear (2),

 Puller, two-arm

Unscrew nut (3)

Remove drive gear (2) and feather key (7)

 Installation: The cone of the drive shaft and the tapered seat of the drive gear (2) must be free of grease.

Check drive gear (2) for damage

If the drive gear (2) is damaged:



Replace drive gear (2). The counter gear of the gearwheel drive must also be checked for damage and replaced if necessary.

Remove positioning disk (5) on drive gear (2)

Only if the drive gear (2) or the positioning disk (5) were replaced.

 Installation: The marking (arrow) on the positioning disk (5) must point away from the fuel system high pressure pump (1).
Replace bolts (6).
