| Remove/install | ||
1 | Bring engine up to operating temperature (approx. 80°C) | Only check compression pressure for an engine is at operating temperature. | |
2 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit | ||
3 | Remove spark plugs | ||

4 | Attach electrical feed lines for compression recorder (1) and crank engine with the contact switch at the compression recorder (1) | ||
Crank engine for about 5 seconds to remove combustion residues from the cylinders. | |||

5 | Screw screw-in piece (2) into the tapped bore of the spark plug of the first cylinder | Screw-in fitting | |
6 | Connect compression recorder (1) to screw-in piece (2) | ||
7 | Crank engine with contact switch for the compression recorder (1) until a pressure rise is no longer indicated on the compression recorder (1) | ||
8 | Carry out testing procedure in the cylinder order on remaining cylinders in the same way | ||
9 | Compare measurements obtained with permissible pressures | Installation tolerance or new value of compression pressure | |
