1	Oil filler cap

 	Remove/install
1	Warm up engine to normal operating temperature	 Coolant temperature approx. 80° C.
 Warning	Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.	Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
2	Open engine cooling system cap
3	Check coolant level; correct if necessary
4	Remove oil filler cap (1)
5	Remove spark plugs

6	Position piston for cylinder to be checked at ignition TDC	Crank engine at crankshaft.

		Cams at cylinder to be checked are positioned upright at an angle, where req. for inspection:
		
		Remove cylinder head cover.

7	Calibrate cylinder leakage tester (2) and screw connector (3) into spark plug bore	 Cylinder leakage tester
		 Pay attention to the operating instructions.

8	Install retaining lock for crankshaft/starter ring gear		AR03.30-D-5000C
9	Apply compressed air to cylinder and read off pressure loss at cylinder leakage tester (2)	Permissible pressure loss in total	*BE01.00-N-1001-02A
		Permissible pressure losses on valves and cylinder head gasket	*BE01.00-N-1002-02A
		Permissible pressure losses to pistons and piston rings	*BE01.00-N-1003-02A
		For increased pressure loss
		
		Determine cylinder pressure loss.

10	Conduct test for other cylinders in the firing order of the engine

		 Firing order
11	Remove cylinder leakage tester (2) and connector (3)
12	Install in the reverse order
