1 Cap for cooling system
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
| Notes on coolant | All engines | |
1 | Check condition of cooling and heating system | Inspect cooling and heating system for leaks and proper condition before replacing the coolant.
2 | Turn temperature selector for front and floor heater to maximum position | Switch on ignition and wait until the regulating valves for the front, floor and roof heater open. Switch off the ignition after about 2 minutes.
3 | Take off cooling system (1) cap
4 | Draining and puring in coolant | Only use coolant in the specified mixture, in order to avoid damage to the cooling and heating system.
The old coolant and the corrosion residues must be completely flushed out. Have the cooling and heating system cleaned against a separate order if it is very dirty.

| |||
5 | Turn temperature selector for front and floor heater to center position | Only switch on auxiliary heater after a test drive to avoid damaging it.
6 | Switch on auxiliary heater circulation pump | Switch ignition on.
7 | Open shutoff valve for filling and venting
8 | Replenish coolant | until coolant emerges free of bubbles from the blow hole.
9 | Close shutoff valve for filling and venting and again top-up with coolant | up to edge of filler neck.
10 | Attach cooling system (1) cap
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
11 | Start engine and run for about 1 minute at varying speeds
12 | Switch off engine and top up coolant | Switch on ignition and allow the auxiliary heater circulation pump to continue running.
13 | Crank the engine and drive the vehicle until the thermostat opens
14 | Switch off engine and allow to cool down
15 | Check coolant level, adjust to correct level if necessary. | For a coolant temperature of approx. 50°C. |
