The HFM-SFI control module is linked by a separate cable to switch contacts in the EA actuator (M16/1) and in the CC actuator (M16/2) for the safety fuel shutoff function. The switch contacts supply a positive signal to the HFM-SFI control module when the engine is idling or when driving.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the throttle valve is opened further than the input signal from the accelerator pedal because of the malfunction and the cruise control is not operating, a safety contact in the actuator switches a GND signal to the HFM-SFI control module through the EA control module (N4/1) or CC control module (N4/3), respectively.
