No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Pump out fuel

 Suction off approx. 20 liters if fuel tank is full: 

Empty fuel tank, fill again.

Remove rear seat

Place damping mat to one side

Remove left cap (2) at marked separation point (1) and remove

 Installation: Replace left cap (2) and insert with new sealant.

 The left cap (2) is glued in with body sealer. Heat with hot air gun to make it easier to remove.

Disconnect fuel feed line (3)

 Cover separation point with rag, in order to prevent ingress of fuel into the interior.

Detach fuel feed line (3a) and fuel return line (3b)

 Cover separation point with rag, in order to prevent ingress of fuel into the interior.

Use claw wrench to unscrew ring nut (4)

 Installation: Ring nut (4) and seal ring (5) must be replaced.

 Installation: Moisten seal ring (5) with mineral oil.



Remove fuel filter (6) with fuel level sensor, left half of tank (B4/1)

Install in the reverse order

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out and erase fault memory


