Measure gap; adjust if necessary

Check connection of central ground line (2) and connection of electrical line (1) to retarder (M36)

 If necessary, repair the central ground line (2), electrical lines (1) and retarder (M36).

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

 The measured values must be within the tolerance.
If one of the measured values is outside the tolerance, the electrical connections should be disconnected from the retarder solenoids and each retarder solenoid must be measured separately.


