Detach clutch housing from transmission

Only on transmission without integrated clutch housing.

Attach transmission to assembly device

 Turn the transmission so that the input shaft points upwards.

Detach countershaft bearing cap (2) from front transmission housing and remove together with shims

Detach input shaft bearing cap (1) from front transmission housing and remove together with shims

 After removing the bolts: Loosen the input shaft bearing cap (1) from the front transmission housing by applying light blows with a plastic mallet and remove using an assembly lever.

Clean all parts, check for wear and replace if necessary



Install

Calculate the thickness of the shims for the countershaft

 Only perform if the transmission was repaired or transmission components were replaced.

Screw countershaft bearing cap (2) with shims to front transmission housing

 Fix shims in countershaft bearing cap (2) with grease.
Transmission 714.690/691/692/120/140:
Check O-ring for wear, replace if necessary.

Transmission 714.668: Replace gasket.

 Replace self-locking screws.

 Only perform if the transmission was repaired or transmission components were replaced.

Attach input shaft bearing cap (1) with shims to front transmission housing

 Fix the shims in the input shaft bearing cap with grease. Ensure that the sealing ring is seated correctly.

Transmission 714.690/691/692/120/140:
Check O-ring for wear, replace if necessary.

Transmission 714.668: Replace gasket.

 Replace self-locking screws.
