Detach left support arm (22) on transmission

Detach electrical lines at the connectors and brackets

 Only with code (GE1) Automatic gear control (AGS).

Remove clutch release lever

 Only on transmission without central clutch release bearing.

Remove guide tube (28.1).

Transmission without hydraulic central clutch release bearing

Remove hydraulic clutch-release mechanism (28.2).

Position transmission vertical to the support plate (40) installed

Remove retaining ring (1)

Remove cover (2)

 Lever out cover (2) using a suitable tool.

Remove circlips (3, 4)

Remove bolts on circumference of transmission housing rear section (23)

Install pry-off device (35), adapter (34) and hydraulic cylinder on transmission housing front section (26)

Detach pry-off device (35), adapter (34) and hydraulic cylinder on transmission housing front section (26)

Secure 5th/6th gear synchronizer package (37) with retaining springs (36)

Remove pilot bearing (9) and shim (10).

Remove circlip (8)

 The circlip (8) is under high pre-stress. Therefore the retaining ring (8) in the housing must be relieved of load.

Press input shaft (7) out of the front section of the transmission housing (26)

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (27)

Remove grooved ball bearing (5) of countershaft (6) in transmission housing front section (26)

 Using a suitable drift from the inside of the front section of the transmission housing (26) hammer on the outer race of the grooved ball bearing (5).

Put on transmission housing rear section (23) horizontal and detach support (40) from transmission output flange (19)
