 	Remove/Install

1	Close the shutoff valves of the cooling system	 See Operating Instructions
Danger!	Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.	Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.	AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
2	Drain coolant	 Installation: Pour in coolant.

3	Open the left rear maintenance flap of the vehicle
4	Open the tailgate and hinge down the bumper cover
5	Slacken bolts of belt pulley (3).	 Do not remove the bolts.
		 Installation: Tighten the bolts of the belt pulley (3).

6	Remove the poly-V-belt, the coolant pump and the generator (2)		AR13.21-T-1201AA
7	Detach the belt pulley (3) from the coolant pump (1)	 Installation: Only screw in the bolts of the belt pulley (3), but do not tighten them.
8	Remove guide pulley (9)
9	Remove the tensioning device from the poly-V-belt		AR13.25-T-3200AA
10	Detach the hose clamp (8) from the coolant inlet nipple (7)
11	Detach the coolant inlet nipple (7) from the coolant pump (1) and the crankcase	 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces, install new gasket.

12	Remove the coolant outlet nipple (5)		AR20.10-T-2460BB
13	Detach the water connection of the retarder (10) from the coolant pump (1)	 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces, install new gasket.

14	Detach the coolant pump (1) from the crankcase	 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces, apply a thin film of grease to the replaced gasket and fit it on the coolant pump (1).

15	Install in the reverse order
	Check
16	Inspect the condition of hose clamps, the coolant outlet nipple (5), coolant inlet nipple (7) as well as the coolant pump (1), and check them for leaks
