Remove/install

Remove air intake hose downstream of air filter

Remove engine cover

Remove bracket (7) with glow output stage (N14/3) and lay down to the side

 Unclip coolant hose (8) from bracket (9). Do not disconnect electrical connections at glow output stage (N14/3).

 Bolt, bracket to charge-air distributor

Remove trim panel on right cylinder head cover

Remove trim panel on left cylinder head cover

6.1

Pull retaining rings (6) upwards and remove leak oil line (1) from right and left injectors (arrows e)

For leak oil line (1) with return travel lock

 Installation: Leak oil line (1) connectors for must engage audibly at injector connection fittings.

 Close off connections of the leak oil line (1) and injectors with  stop plugs.

 Record plug

6.2

Turn anti-twist locks (12.1) on the locks (12) to the left and remove leak oil line (1) upwards from the right and left injectors (arrows e)

For a leak oil line (1) with anti-twist locks (12.1)

 Installation: Leak oil line (1) connections must engage audibly at the injector connection fittings.

 Close off connections of the leak oil line (1) and injectors with  stop plugs.

 Record plug

Check sealing ring on injector for the leak oil line (1) for damage

If damage is present



Replace sealing ring

Unclip leak oil line (1) on coolant thermostat (11)

Pull retainer (10) and disconnect leak oil line (1) from fuel line (3)

 Close off connections for leak oil line (1) and fuel line (3) with  stop plugs.

 Record plug

Check sealing ring of leak oil line (1) to fuel line (3) for damage.



If damaged, install a new leak oil line (1)

9.2

Open clamp and remove leak oil line (1) from fuel line (3)

 Close off connections for leak oil line (1) and fuel line (3) with  stop plugs.

 Installation: Check clamp for damage.

 Record plug

Remove screw/bolts (2) and bracket (4)

Remove screw/bolts (5)

 Leak oil line to charge air distribution line

Remove rail on left cylinder bank

Lead out leak oil line (1) at right and left cylinder head and take off

 Engine 642.992 in model 906
On engine 642.992 lift fuel line (3) on left cylinder head to lead out leak oil line (1).

 Installation: Pay attention to installation position of the leak oil line (1).

Install in the reverse order

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
