Remove/install

Turn key in ignition lock to position "0"

Remove front engine cover

See "Remove air filter housing"

Remove poly-V belt

Install retaining lock for crankshaft/starter ring gear

Remove center bolt (3)

 Installation: Install new center bolt (3).

 Center bolt, belt pulley to crankshaft

Detach belt pulley/vibration damper (2) from crankshaft

 Installation: Place belt pulley/vibration damper (2) at crankshaft and using light rotary movements, ensure that the groove of the belt pulley /vibration damper (2) engages with the feather keys (4) of the crankshaft.



Check

Check contact surface of crankshaft radial sealing ringing ring (5) at hub of belt pulley/vibration damper (2)

 Check for scoring and galling, if necessary, replace belt pulley/vibration damper (2).

Replace front crankshaft radial sealing ring (5)

When replacing the belt pulley /vibration damper (2) or in the event of leaks on the crankshaft radial sealing ringing ring (5)

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check engine for leaktightness
