Remove/install

Remove clutch.

Remove torque converter clutch.

Pull crankshaft angle position sensor (B15) approximately . 8 mm out of the timing case.


The crankshaft angle position sensor (B15) must be pulled out before the flywheel (1) is pulled off.
If this is not done, the ring gear may damage the crankshaft angle position sensor (B15).

 Installation: Push the crankshaft position sensor (B15) all the way into the timing case until the end stop.

Install the turning device (3) for the engine.

Remove screws (2) .

 Installation: Apply oil to the screws (2) and tighten.

 Bolt, flywheel to crankshaft

Screw centering pins (4) into two opposite threaded holes.

 Alignment punch

Remove the flywheel (1) over the centering pins (4).

 If the flywheel (1) is jammed, screw two screws M8 into opposite threaded holes and pull off the flywheel (1).



Check

Measure screws (2).

Flywheel bolts

If problems exist,



Replace screw/bolts (2).

Check the clutch surface on the flywheel (1).

Check the flywheel flange for wear and galling caused by the radial shaft sealing ring.

If problems exist,



replace flywheel (1).

Check the ring gear for wear.

If problems exist,



replace the flywheel's ring gear (1).
