Remove chain tensioner

Unscrew bolts (2) at front cover (1)

Lift locking pawl (7) of top guide rail (6) up and off the dowel pin with notch (4)

 Top guide rail (6) is released and remains in timing chain box.

Pull front cover at cylinder head (1) forward and off the cylinder head

 Pay attention to dowel pins (3, 4, 5).

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Coat sealing surface of front cover (1) with sealing compound, refer to.



Inspect for oil leaks

 Run engine until warm, switch off and inspect for leaks.
