Remove/install

Remove the camshaft housing (7).

 The camshaft housing (7) consists of cylinder head cover (3) and lower section of camshaft housing (4) and is only available as a unit.

Remove the camshaft's fixing device.

Unscrew the screws (D) and remove the cylinder head cover (3) from the lower section of the camshaft housing (4).

 Installation: Replace the screws (D).

Remove lift solenoid of camshaft for cylinders 1 and 2.

When replacing the camshaft housing  (7).

Remove lift solenoid of camshaft for cylinders 3 and 4.

When replacing the camshaft housing  (7).

Remove lift solenoid of camshaft for cylinders 5 and 6.

When replacing the camshaft housing  (7).

Remove intake camshaft (5) and exhaust camshaft (6).

When replacing the camshaft housing  (7).

Remove the oil cover and the oil cover adapter.

When replacing the camshaft housing  (7).

Clean

Clean sealing surfaces at cylinder head, cylinder head cover (3) and lower section of camshaft housing (4).


Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.
