Remove/install

1

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove front noise insulation.

Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter.

Remove full load vent line (4) fom the oil separator (1).

Remove rear noise insulation.

Release and disconnect electrical connector for CAMTRONIC actuator for intake cylinders 5 and 6 (Y49/21).

Remove screws/bolts (3).

 Installation: Replace screws/bolts (3).

 Screw, valve lift switching actuator to camshaft housing

Remove CAMTRONIC actuator for intake cylinders 5 and 6 (Y49/21) and seal opening with lint-free rag.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Read out and delete fault memory.



Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and leaktightness.

Install upper engine cover.
