Perform operation steps 1 to 6 to remove the engine

Disconnect electrical connection engine wiring harness/engine compartment (X26) and place to one side.

Detach electrical connections (1, 2) on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

Detach ground line (3) from longitudinal member at the left.

Unscrew nut (4) at prefuse box and expose circuit B+ electrical line.

Detach electrical line (5) for circuit 30 from starter (M1) and detach charge air cooler holder, expose and place to one side  .

Disconnect electrical connection for dual-clutch transmission fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/14), expose and place to one side.

Perform operation steps 7 to 39 for removal of cylinder head or cylinder head cover

Disconnect electrical connection (1) at ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

Unclip electrical connection for engine wiring harness/engine compartment (X26) at air filter housing and disconnect.

Disconnect electrical connection at intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15).

Disconnect electrical connection at exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/16).

Disconnect electrical connection at pressure sensor downstream of air filter (B28/5).

Disconnect electrical connection at quantity control valve (Y94).

Disconnect electrical connection at purging pressure sensor (B4/4).

Disconnect electrical connection at alternator (G2).

Disconnect electrical connection at A/C compressor (A9).

Disconnect electrical connection at oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2).

Disconnect electrical connection at oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/1).

Disconnect electrical connection from transmission cooling coolant circulation pump (M13/7).

Disconnect electrical connection at bypass air switchover valve (Y101).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/1).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 2 ignition coil (T1/2).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 3 ignition coil (T1/3).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 4 ignition coil (T1/4).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 1 injection nozzle (Y76/1).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 2 injection nozzle (Y76/2).

Disconnect electrical connection at cylinder 3 injection nozzle (Y76/3).

Disconnect electrical connection (1) from SOGE actuator motor (M16/58).

Disconnect electrical connection at pressure sensor upstream of throttle valve (B28/6).

Disconnect electrical connection at fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B4/25).

Disconnect electrical connection at partial load operation crankcase ventilation system valve (Y58/2).

Disconnect electrical connection at boost pressure control pressure transducer (Y77/1).

Disconnect electrical connection at charge air temperature sensor downstream of throttle valve (B17/9).

Disconnect electrical connection at pressure sensor downstream of throttle valve (B28/7).

Disconnect electrical connection at coolant temperature sensor (B11/4).

Expose extension of the engine wiring harness.

 Installation: Replace duct tape and cable tie and ensure correct routing of the engine wiring harness.
Damage can occur on the engine wiring harness for non-observance of the work procedure.

 In order ensure further freedom of movement of the engine wiring harness, if necessary the duct tape and the cable tie can be removed in the area of the cylinder 4 ignition coil (T1/4) and the extension for the engine wiring harness exposed.
