Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Check radiator, coolant lines, coolant pipes and coolant hoses of cooling and heating system for leaks and condition

Open regulating valve of heating system

On vehicle without automatic heater: The temperature selector must be in the "max" position.
On vehicles with automatic heater:
The steering wheel lock must be engaged.

Drain coolant

The old coolant and the corrosion residues must be completely flushed out. If cooling system is very dirty:

Remove grease and scale in the cooling system

The statutory regulations or local wastewater regulations must be observed when disposing of coolant.

Pour in new coolant

Only use new coolant in the specified composition.

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Bleed cooling and heating system

To do this, allow the engine to run for approx. one minute with varying speed and in the process refill with coolant up to the bottom edge of the filler neck (4).
