Drive authorization system shut-off valve (DSV) note on identification

The DSV engine control module and the remote radio control (FFB) module are interlinked by a fixed identification code. This identification cannot be erased. It is therefore impossible to install a DSV engine control module or remote radio control (FFB) control module into or from another vehicle.

If a new DSV engine control module is installed, a DSV engine control module/remote radio control (FFB) control module identification procedure must be carried out using the HHT before the first start takes place. If the DSV engine control module remains in the vehicle, the identification must be locked in.

After the first identification has been successfully performed using the HHT, each subsequent identification (engine start request) takes place automatically.

If injection pump adjustment work is required (electrical pump removed), the DSV engine control module must be unscrewed.

If a new DSV control module is installed for testing purposes, the maximum number of start-ups or ignition "ON/OFF" procedures that can be carried out is 40, since the control modules are subsequently interlocked.

In order to assign the DSV engine control module to a certain vehicle, the chassis number is stored in the DSV engine control module.
