Remove loose objects from cab.


Loose objects should not be present in the cab.
The windshield can otherwise be damaged during the tilting forward of the cab.

Remove hood.

Remove front trim.

Remove air conditioner.

Release, remove air intake hose (1) at air intake pipe (2) and seal both openings, in each case, with a rag.

Remove air intake line (3) from holder (4) and remove holder (4).

Install tilt supports (8), turn in direction of rotation (A), insert locating pins (7) and secure.

Remove linch pin (21) and open quick clamping device (22).

Screws (9, 10) must be removed.
Screws (9, 10) and/or thread in mounts or cab can otherwise be damaged when tilting cab forward/back.

Unscrew screws (9, 10) and remove screws (9) from the cab.


Tilting back:
Screws (10) must be raised during tilting back because it is not possible to fully remove screws (10).
Otherwise, screws (10) or thread in mounts or cab may be damaged when the cab is tilted back.

Remove safety strut (19) below rear bench seat.

Only for model 437.4 up to vehicle identification end number 213326

Remove screw (11) below the rear bench seat.


It is necessary to remove screw (11) from cab.
Otherwise, when tilting the cab back and forth, the screw (11) or the thread in the elastomer bearing (18) and the cab can be damaged.

Close locking valve (13) with extension pipe on tilt cylinder (14).

 Tilting back:
Open locking valve (13) only after tilting back. The locking valve (13) should always be open while driving to ensure the required pressure compensation in the event of torsion.

Move pump lever (15) of hydraulic pump (12) to "Lift" position and insert the extension pipe into the pump lever (15) of the hydraulic pump (12).

Slowly pump the cab upwards until the cross strut (20.1) with the spacer sleeves (20.2) can be installed.


Only for vehicles up to vehicle identification end number 212791The right longitudinal member on the cab floor can hit against the charge air pipe, for this reason push cab slightly toward rear when tilting the cab back and forth.
Otherwise damage can occur between the longitudinal member and the charge air pipe.


Tilting back:
It is necessary to remove cross strut (20.1).
Otherwise the cab and the radiator unit can be damaged.

 Only for vehicles with air-sprung suspension seat, codes DB1, DB3, DF1, DF3.
Since it is not possible to completely remove the screws (10), it is necessary to lift the screws (10) when tilting back and forth.

 Tilting back:
Aid of helper required.
Guide Pitman arm shaft (16) into sliding piece (17).
When doing so, pay attention to the tooth space (B) and the wide tooth (C).

Install cross strut (20.1) with spacer sleeves (20.2).



Remove elastomer bearing (18).

Check the elastomer bearing (18) for wear and damage.

If a problem is found,



replace elastomer bearing (18).

Continue to pump up cab until the safety strut (19) can be installed.


Only for vehicles up to vehicle identification end number 212791The right longitudinal member on the cab floor can hit against the charge air pipe, for this reason push cab slightly toward rear when tilting the cab back and forth.
Otherwise damage can occur between the longitudinal member and the charge air pipe.


During raising, check whether all lines and components between cab and frame are free of tension, if necessary disconnect connections.
Otherwise damage could occur to the lines or components.

 Tilting back:
Move pump lever (15) to "Lower" position.
Aid of helper required.
Guide Pitman arm shaft (16) into sliding piece (17).
When doing so, pay attention to the tooth space (B) and the wide tooth (C).
