1 Attach dial indicator (1) to dial gage holder (2).
2 Mount dial indicator (1) preloaded on the face of the cylinder head.
3 Set scale of dial indicator to "0".
4 Move dial indicator (1) so that the feeler pin is resting on the valve disk (3), dimension (a)
Rework valve seat if the valve setback (a) is too small.
Replace valve seat if the valve setback (a) is too large.

4 Measure distance (T) from the valve stem end to the base of the camshaft bearing.
To do this, insert the 6 mm round material centered in the camshaft bearing base and measure dimension (T) using a depth gauge.
If the distance (T) is too small and the valve has a normal length (103.9 mm), install as shorter valve of the repair design (103 mm).
If the distance (T) is too large and the valve has a repair length (e.g. valve seat ring replacement), install the longer of the normal design.
If the distance (T) is too small and the valve has a repair length, replace the cylinder head
