No test wiring harness should be connected during the function test.

Raise the vehicle at the rear so that both rear wheels are free to move.

Danger

Engine: Idling

Selector lever in position "D"

Use accelerator pedal to apply full throttle.

If ASR control is not applied:

Return accelerator pedal to idle speed position

The rear wheels are braked noticeably and the high-pressure/return pump is audible at the same time. The engine speed is controlled to approx. 1000 rpm. The ASR warning lamp in the speedometer flashes.

HHT testing

HFM-SFI engine, EA or ME-SFI

ASR shut off with ASR OFF switch

Engine: Idling

Selector lever in position "N"

Press ASR OFF switch

Selector lever in position "D"

Depress accelerator pedal slowly

The ESP warning lamp in speedometer is permanently illuminated.

Engine speed is not reduced. The rear wheels are not braked and the ASR warning lamp in the speedometer flashes.
