Service information: Modifications to auxiliary hot air heaters and notes on repairs

Modification notes

1 As of vehicle ident. end no. 534387 the new "Webasto Air Top 2000" auxiliary hot air heater with modified blower motor is installed in series models.

2 As of vehicle ident. end no. 546789 the fuel line in the area of the auxiliary hot air heater to the front-end flap is transparent. This enables the fuel line to be visually checked to see if it is delivering fuel.

3 If a Webasto heater is disassembled, the seal set must always be replaced for safety reasons (see "Parts ordering notes" table).

4 The flange gasket must always be replaced every time a heater is removed (see "Parts ordering notes" table) and the auxiliary heater's exhaust-gas system must be vented with compressed air.

5 When conducting repairs on the Webasto "Air Top 2000" heater, the repair set (burner element, flame monitor and heating element, see "Parts ordering notes" table) must be used.

6 On models 950.0/1/2/3, 952.0/1/2/3, 953.1/3, 954.0/1/2 up to vehicle ident. end no. 546789 the parts kit for the auxiliary hot air heater has to be retrofitted if the heater has been removed for repairs.

7 On vehicles equipped with an auxiliary hot air heater as of vehicle ident. end no. 509480 a warning label has been attached to the B-pillar on the driver's side.

On vehicles equipped with an auxiliary hot air heater up to vehicle ident. end no. 509479 the warning label must be attached the next time the vehicle visits the workshop (see "Parts ordering notes" table).

8 Do not tilt the connector for the timer when plugging in. All the contacts must be contacted at the same time. After this, the display must start to flash, then the timer can be programmed. If the display fails to flash, repeat the contacting process.

It is not possible to program the timer where hazardous materials are transported.
