Attach connection fitting (40a) to high pressure expansion hose (30i).



Attach connecting hose (40c) to power steering pump



Connect testing unit (039) between connection fitting (40a) and connecting hose (40c)

 Ensure that the test device cannot be touched by moving parts such as fan and poly-V belt.



Fill power steering pump and bleed

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine

Increase engine speed to approx. 1000 rpm

Close throttle cock (039a) and check maximum operating pressure.

 Perform the test quickly to prevent the oil temperature from rising too high otherwise the seals can be damaged.

Turn off engine

Detach testing unit (039) between connection fitting (40a) and connection hose (40c)



Install

Replace O-ring on high-pressure expansion hose (30i)

Mount high-pressure expansion hose (30i) onto power steering pump
