Before installing a differential assembly with sealed differential in the axle housing, 0.5 l of oil must be poured into the differential, otherwise the gears of the differential will not be lubricated and the entire differential assembly will be irreparably damaged.
1 Clamp the complete differential assembly (1) with the bores for the axle shafts in the horizontal position.
Do not damage the toothing of the ring gear (2).
2 Pour in min. 0.5 l of oil at the bore for the axle shaft on the differential side (arrow)
When installing the differential assembly (1) it can occur that a slight oil quantity runs out of the sealed differential. The minimum oil quantity remaining in the differential ensures adequate lubrication of the differential toothing.
