 Note the sliding block (17) in the steering knuckle arm (12).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (9) from steering knuckle arm (12)

Detach snap ring (14) from kingpin (11) and remove pressure plate (13)

Remove screw plug (3) and sealing ring (4) from lower kingpin (11)

Remove screw plug (3) and sealing ring (4) from upper kingpin in steering arm (2)

When removing the steering knuckle (8) on the driver side.

Remove screw plug (3) and sealing ring (4) from upper kingpin in cover (6)

When installing the steering knuckle (8) on the driver side if the clamping sleeves (7) are missing or being replaced.

When installing the steering knuckle (8) on the passenger side if the clamping sleeves (7) are missing or being replaced.

Install clamping sleeves (7) in steering knuckle arm (12)

Only if roll pins (7) are missing or are replaced.

Position steering knuckle (8) on axle housing (1)

 Do not damage the radial shaft sealing rings in the steering knuckle (8).

Install steering arm (2) of upper steering knuckle bearing with new fitted collar bolts (5)

When installing the steering knuckle (8) on the driver side.

 Caulk the new fitted collar bolts (5) after tightening.

Install cover (6) of upper steering knuckle bearing with new fitted collar bolts (5)

When installing the steering knuckle (8) on the passenger side.

 Caulk the new fitted collar bolts (5) after tightening.

Insert sliding block (17) into steering knuckle arm (12) with chamfered side pointing upward

Position steering knuckle arm (12) with sliding block (17) on steering knuckle (8) and screw in new fitted collar bolts (15) until sliding block (17) makes contact

 Only screw in the fitted collar bolts (15) slightly by hand.

Check gap dimension of sliding block (17) using commercially available feeler gauge

 If necessary, detach the steering knuckle arm (12) again and reinstall with the appropriate sliding block (17).
