Remove

Remove automatic transmission

Remove torque converter housing (1) with multidisk brake B1 (4) from transmission housing

Unscrew two opposite screws/bolts (3) a few revolutions and unscrew remaining screws/bolts (3) completely


The threaded holes must not be recut with the conventional thread taps.
Otherwise the thread gets destroyed. Only blow out threaded holes using compressed air.

Remove oil pump (5)



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF, Sheet 236.10)

 Loosen oil pump (5) by applying gentle blows to the bolt heads using a plastic mallet.

According to findings:



Disassemble/assemble oil pump (5)

Unscrew two opposite bolts (6) a few revolutions and unscrew remaining bolts (6) complete



Detach multidisk brake B1 (4) from torque converter housing (1)

 Loosen multidisk brake B1 (4) by applying gentle blows to the bolt heads using a plastic mallet.

According to findings:



Disassemble/assemble multi-disk brake B1 (4).

Remove intermediate plate (2)



Install

Mount intermediate plate (2) on torque converter housing (1)

 Do not coat intermediate panel (2) and torque converter housing (1) with sealant.

Install multi-disk brake B1 (4).

 The installation position is specified by the dowel pin (arrow).
Replace bolts (6), put on and tighten in a crosswise pattern.

Install oil pump (5)

 The oil ducts (A) in the oil pump (5) and in the torque converter housing (1) must be opposite one another.
Replace bolts (3).

Mount torque converter housing (1) with multidisk brake B1 (4) on transmission housing
