| Disassemble | ||
1 | Detach torque converter housing and multi-disk brake B1 from transmission housing | ||
2 | Remove multi-disk brake B1 and oil pump | ||
3 | Remove snap ring (10) | ||
4 | Take multi-disk pack B and spring washer (5) out of the external plate carrier | Check disks for scorch marks and wear. | |
5 | Place the assembly device on the spring washer (5) and tension until the snap ring (4) is exposed | | |
6 | Remove the snap ring (4) and detach the assembly device | ||
7 | Remove piston (2) from external plate carrier (1) | To do this carefully blow compressed air into the bore (A). | |
8 | Remove Teflon rings (11) | ||
| Assemble | ||
9 | Install piston (2) in the external plate carrier | Fit a new rubber seal on the piston (2). Press in the piston (2) with the assistance of the spring washer (3) and the assembly device. | |
10 | Insert spring washer (3) | Observe installation position: Insert spring washer (3) with the cone pointing upwards. | |
11 | Install snap ring (4). | ||
12 | Place assembly device on spring washer (3) and tension until the groove of the snap ring (4) is exposed | | |
13 | Insert snap ring (4) | Observe installation position: The long collar of the snap ring must point toward the disk pack. The ends of the snap ring must touch the long tab on the external plate carrier (1). After installing, check again that the snap ring is seated correctly. | |
14 | Remove assembly device | ||
15 | Insert disk spring (5) in the external plate carrier (1) | Observe installation position: The lugs of the spring washer must contact the 3 contact points (arrow) of the external plate carrier (1). The cone of the spring washer must point downwards. | |
16 | Insert clutch pack (B) in the external plate carrier (1) and measure disk play | Pay attention to sequence of disks. | |
17 | Insert snap ring (10) | Both ends of the snap ring must be seated on a tab of the external plate carrier. | |
18 | Coat teflon rings (11) lightly with grease and insert in the groove so that the joint stays together | ||
19 | Install multi-disk brake B1 and oil pump | ||
20 | Fit torque converter housing and multi-disk brake B1 to transmission housing |
