9 | Remove drive-side inner bearing race (4). | Transmission 711.685
The inner bearing race (4) of the countershaft bearing is divided into two halves. The output side inner bearing race (4) sits on the countershaft.
10 | Remove roller bearing (1).
| Clean | ||
11 | Clean sealing surfaces of transmission housing front section (7) and of transmission housing rear section (9). | Assembly cleaner
| Assemble | ||
12 | Check pilot bushings (6). | Check pilot bushings (6) for correct seating and damage.
If pilot bushings (6) are not seated correctly:
| |||
Correct installation position of pilot bushings (6).
If pilot bushings (6) are damaged:
| |||
Replace pilot bushings (6).
13 | Apply sealant to sealing surface of transmission housing front section (7).
Notes on application of flange sealants to seal major assemblies
Apply sealant evenly on sealing surface.
Loctite 5203 sealant | |||
14 | Install roller bearing (1). | Check roller bearing (1) for damage.
If corresponding findings are present,
| |||
Replace roller bearing (1).
| |||
The roller bearing (1) is supplied with different bearing cage colors.
