Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.
1 | Tilt cab | ||
| Notes on tilting the cab | ||
2 | Remove right soundproofing at frame and lower soundproofing
3 | Swivel tensioning device upwards at the bolt, the tensioner pulley (1) using the breaker bar and socket (2) (direction of arrow) and hold | Only swivel tensioning device upwards against the spring tension of the tensioner pulley (1), otherwise the bolt can loosen.
4 | Remove poly-V belt (3) from tensioner pulley (1)
5 | Swivel the tensioning device back and remove the poly-V belt (3) | Do not kink the poly-V belt (3), otherwise it may become damaged.
| Checking | ||
6 | Check condition of poly-V belt (3), replace poly-V belt (3) if necessary
| Damage profiles for poly-V belt | ||
7 | Check vibration damper, belt pulley of alternator and coolant pump and tensioning device with tensioner pulley (1) | Replace and damaged or worn parts:
Vibration damper | |||
Tensioning device with tensioner pulley (1)

- Up to engine end no. 190707
- As of engine end no. 190708
Belt pulley of coolant pump
8 | Check belt pulley at refrigerant compressor | Only with code (H03) Air conditioning system in front end. If necessary, replace belt pulley at refrigerant compressor.
9 | Check guide pulley | Only with code (H03) AC system in front end and with code (ML2) Tandem alternator. If necessary, replace guide pulley.
| Install | ||
10 | Place poly-V belt (3) onto belt pulley, vibration damper and if necessary, onto guide pulley | Do not fit the belt pulley 3) onto the tensioner pulley (1) at this stage.
11 | Swivel the tensioning device upwards at the bolt, the tensioner pulley (1) using breaker bar and socket (2) (direction of arrow) and hold | Only swivel the tensioning device upwards against spring tension of tensioner pulley (1), otherwise the bolt can loosen.
12 | Fit poly-V belt (3) onto tensioner pulley of tensioning device (1) and swivel tensioning device back, remove breaker bar and socket (2). | Check correct seating of poly-V belt (3), if necessary, align poly-V belt (3).
13 | Install right soundproofing at frame and lower soundproofing
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.
