Check control canister (1) for external damage.

 On a deformed control canister (1) the turbocharger must be replaced.

Remove hose (3) at the control canister (1) and check damage.

 Attach pressure pump (2) with a suitable hose to the control canister (1) and apply a maximum pressure of 1 bar.

 If the diaphragm is damaged, the pressure generated by the  pressure pump (2) at the control canister (1) between the valve rod (arrow) and control canister housing will escape; replace the turbocharger if necessary.

 Remove pressure pump (2), attach hose (3) to control canister (1).
