Pressure pump
1
Check the final control element (1) for external damages.
If it shows external deformations, or signs of repairs and changes in control, replace the exhaust turbo-supercharger
2
Unplug the tube at the connection (3) of the final control element (1).
3
Install the hand pump (2) in the connection (3) of the final control element (1) and apply a pressure of 1.25 bar.
The test pressure should not exceed 2 bar, as the diaphragm of the final control element (1) may be damaged.
If the final control element diaphragm (1) is damaged, there will be a loss of air pressure between the body and the final control element rod (see arrow) (1). In this case, replace the turbocharger. In this case, replace the exhaust turbo-supercharger.
4
Remove the hand pump (2) and reconnect the tube connection to the connection (3) of the final control element (1).
To perform the test of the final control element (1) without hand pump with manometer, adopt the following precautions and criteria:
Compressed air (clean and dry) may come from an external line or from one of the vehicle's reservoirs. The engine must be stationary.
Test pressure (1.25 bar) may be controlled via pressure gauge with pressure scale up to 5 bar and a control valve for controlling the pressure.
