Carefully press in the MR/PLD unit pump (1) by hand to a distance of about 4 mm from the contact area on the crankcase. Push in the bolts (4) down to the stop for screw heads on the MR/PLD unit pump (1). | |||
Do not tilt MR/PLD unit pump (1) when inserting into crankcase. If it is not possible to press in the MR/PLD unit pump (1) deep enough due to a cam on the direct injection stranding in the upward condition then keep turning the crankshaft by half a revolution in the direction of rotation. | |||
23 | Remove black O-ring (2) and green O-ring (3) from MR/PLD unit pump (1) | Installation: Clean radial groove on housing of MR/PLD unit pump (1) Push sleeve (9) over the MR/PLD unit pump (1). | |
Replace the black O-ring (2) and green O-ring (3) and coat with hot bearing grease. First install the black O-ring (2) in the groove with the aid of the sleeve (9) then the green O-ring (3). Remove sleeve (9). | |||
Do not install black O-ring (2) and green O-ring (3) twisted to prevent tearing. | |||

24 | Check roller tappet on MR/PLD unit pump (1) for score mark, scratches and sanding spots | In the case of minimal score marks or scratches on the roll, the MR/PLD unit pump (1) can be used again. | |
Installation: Carefully clean the sealing surface of MR/PLD unit pump (1) and the sealing surface on the crankcase free of dirt and paint residues. | |||
25 | Install in the reverse order | Installation: At the time of installing new MR/PLD unit pumps (1), note the barcode (arrow) of the MR/PLD unit pump (1) to the respective cylinder. | |
