MODEL 668, 670 with ENGINE 900 with CODE (MS4) BlueTec 4
We would hereby inform you about the option of re-equipping or modifying vehicles with emissions standard Euro 4 to emissions standard Euro 5.
Through re-equipping or modifying, a toll saving of 2.8 ct/km can be achieved in Germany on vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight of >12 t.
New toll rates as of 1st January 2009 (for Germany)
Toll category | Axles | Toll rates as of 01.01.2009 | Toll rates as of 01.01.2011 |

Euro 5 Code (MS2) | as of 4 axles | 15.5 cent/km | 15.4 cent/km |
Extent of upgrading
Very cost intensive modifications are partly required to achieve the Euro 5 standard.
The upgrading is technically possible in most cases, but requires an individual case declaration for each vehicle. On vehicles with CTT Molsheim modifications, it can occur that due to the installation situation that the space available for the SCR catalytic converter is not sufficient.
There is no universal solution. The detailed conversion scope for the respective vehicle can be questioned with a Sorry-XSF inquiry with detail of the veh.-ident no. and the sales code. For a positive test the feedback of the removal variant parts list, installation variant parts list and MR data record takes place with the supplementary code required for the procurement of the engine control (MR) control unit ES1 04.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The re-equipping basically comprises the exchange of the SCR catalytic converter, the engine control (MR) control unit, the BLUETEC information label on the cab and engine model plate.
The engine control (MR) control unit is ordered, as with normal replacement procurement, by means of specifying the engine-number and device code. An imprinted engine model plate is enclosed with the control unit which must be attached if demanded by the authorities.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note on identification plates
The certification ex works is attached to the engine in the form of an engraving.
BR 900 Certification engraved on cylinder crankcase
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes on attaching new identification plates
BR 900 Make previous certification unrecognizable with the number of impacts "X" and attach new identification plate to the cylinder crankcase.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Change in vehicle registration documents
First a manufacturer's certificate must be applied for. The part number of the SCR catalytic converter and the engine control (MR) control unit must be specified for the application.
The certification for the German market can be applied for under:
Daimler AG
Homologation (TP/EVA)
D-70546 Stuttgart
Germany
Tel.: +49 900/1812-796
Fax: +49 900/1812-797
With this certification the customer receives an expert's report to change the vehicle licensing documents Part I and II at the respective at a veh. test point (TÜV, Dekra etc.).
The respective MPC is responsible for modifications in other markets.
COSTS
The costs for the conversion, as of 6000,- Euro, are not covered by warranty and are to be borne in full by the customer You should therefore check on a customer-by-customer basis whether the modification is really worth it or will pay for itself.
