The repair instructions apply analogously for the right side of the vehicle.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Remove center cargo area floor

Remove lower part of sidewall paneling

Risk of explosion from ignition, risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel, as well as risk of injury from skin and eye contact with fuel.

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove tank filler pipe

With longitudinal member repairs

Removal: Loosen clamps (7, 12), pull of hoses and remove tank filler pipe (6).

 Seal tank openings and cover with suitable tarpaulin.

Remove detachable body components in the repair area

Cover all attached parts remaining in area to be repaired

Remove side center longitudinal

member (1, 13)

 On repairs to the right longitudinal member (13) the bracket (5) must be removed from the old part and used again.

Fit side center longitudinal member (1, 13), align and fix with clamping pliers



Installing

Danger!

The high voltage used for arc welding presents a lethal hazard. Danger of explosion from welding near highly combustible materials. Danger of injuries from welding splash and UV light during welding. Danger of poisoning through inhaling welding vapors

Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and facemask. Remove highly combustible materials from the danger zone. Use evacuation system.

Clean areas repaired and prime with MB primer/filler

Supplement standard seals with MB body sealant
