Assemble planetary gear set with shift mechanism (1)

Moisten new radial shaft sealing ring (10) with synthetic grease

Drive new radial shaft sealing ring (10) all the way into rear section of transmission housing (9) using drift (12)

 The spring lock washer of the radial shaft sealing ring (10) must point inward.

Drive pilot bushing (11) all the way into rear section of transmission housing (9) using drift (12)

Install bush (27)

 Only carry out if the bushing (27) has been removed to allow the rear section of the transmission housing (9) to be replaced.

Install spring (26), oil strainer (25) and new
seal ring (24), and tighten screw plug (23)

 The guide lugs on the oil strainer (25) must point toward the
screw plug (23).



Insert pulse ring (16), ball bearing (14) and circlip (13) into rear section of transmission housing (9)

Install sliding blocks (2) in shift fork (3), and insert shift fork (3) into planetary gear set with shift mechanism (1)

 The inscription (arrows) on the
shift fork (3) must point toward the output end. The sliding blocks (2) must engage in the sliding sleeve.

Align carrier ring (28) and rear section of transmission housing (9) with each other so that bores (A, B) are in alignment

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat up inner race of ball bearing (14) installed in rear section of transmission housing (9) to approx. 80 °C

Place rear section of transmission housing (9) on planetary gear set with shift mechanism (1)

 When doing so, push the inner race of the ball bearing (14) installed in the rear section of the transmission housing (9) onto the spline shaft of the planet carrier until the inner race makes contact.

Install shift rod (4) with attached shift piston (5)

 The shift fork (3) must engage in the recess in the shift rod (4).

Screw in both bearing pins (22)

 Secure the two bearing pins (22) using Loctite 243.

Install range module (7)

Replace the O-ring (6).
