 Warning

Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.

When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m).

Remove

Remove wiper arm

Fold up covers (arrows e) on grab handle (10)

Remove grab handle (10)

 To do this, remove bolts (9) .

Remove left and right sealing frame (4) in area of A-pillar paneling (3)

Unclip A-pillar panelings (3) at top, fold down (arrow a) and remove upward (arrow b)

Cover instrument panel and louvers


Carefully cover instrument panel and ventilation slots.
This prevents that the glass splinters do not fall into the ventilation slots or damage the instrument panel.

Lift sealing frame (2) with long wedge and pull off

 Warning

Risk of injury from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out windshield (1) with window removal tool

Window cutter
Cup suction tool/shackle (for removing and installing windows)

 Punch pipe probe for cutting wire through adhesive seam at easily accessible point.

 Aid of helper required.



Clean

Vacuum off glass splinters and contamination

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner



Install windshield (1)

A window must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the windshield (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the door are closed.

 Observe curing time.

Position grab handle (10) on right A-pillar and screw in bolts (9)

Guide A-pillar paneling (3) with guide downward into hole in A-pillar (arrow d) and arrest at top (arrow c)

Remove left and right sealing frame (4) in area of A-pillar paneling (3)

Install wiper arm

Clean
